Once Upon a time
during a particularly colorful and mystical era on our planet , there
was a magical place composed of three hundred and fifteen acres of
secluded land covered with whispering pines and swaying oaks in
Northern California called Wheeler's Ranch.
This piece of property belonged to Bill Wheeler who, following the lead of Lou Gottlieb of Morning Star Ranch,
deeded the land to God, and then ~ just think of the concept ~ opened it to all! ~
It's call of freedom found it's way to the hearts of a variety
of people seeking a way of being and living that was close to the earth
~ people longing to get "back to the land ".
They came from hither thither and yon, and were a *highly*
unique tribe of people that lived in a community of incredibly
imaginative buildings ~ This Album is a nostalgic look at those magical times, and is dedicated to the Open Land in all of us.

The pictures
herein are just a part of the whole. Not many people carried cameras
nor took pictures, but to those who did we owe extreme gratitude, for
without them we wouldn't be able to experience the following visual
feast.
Enjoy
