Are You Better Off Than You Were Four Years Ago?
I am better off than I was four years ago because I resolve to be a
better person
but the question we have to ask as we look at our planet as it revolves
around the sun in this universe is:
Are We Better Off Than You Were Four Years Ago?
Humanity has taken a nose dive into a shinning tar pit.
Our leaders are in a quagmire of greed,
Justice and Liberty have turned their backs and are crying under a
dark black cloak.
The United Nations is up to it's knees in scandal.
Religion is swinging it's ax brutally.
The earth is burned, vegetation is going up in smoke.
Acid rain is falling from the skies into our eyes as we look up to
pray for guidance.
The Vote has become the daily pole wrapped in sticky spam wrapper.
My father cries out in uniform and ribbons, "If you don't love it,
leave it!"
It's gone.
So so much red tape;
we walk in the opposite direction just to avoid being snagged.
Our child says, "Get out of my face, fuck off jerk!"
My head turns to shake it in remorse and it keeps revoling.
I am going to wash off my one vote and stamp it as mine and only mine.
I want to run off and hide but I won't.

Remarks by Senator Murray on the State of Education in America
Mr. President, I rise today to talk about the state of education
in America today.
And I want to pose a simple question:
Are we better off today than we were four years ago?
