"I'm very concerned about cloning," Bush told reporters in the Oval Office. "I worry about a world in which cloning becomes acceptable."
"I made it very clear to the Congress that the use of federal money, taxpayers' money to promote science which destroys life in order to save life is — I'm against that. And therefore, if the bill does that, I will veto it."
The president's comments were aimed
at putting the brakes on a bill gaining momentum on Capitol Hill.

I heard these words on the television
the other day and I was stunned and puzzled!
We are the government that has
a huge scientific arsenal of weapons that indeed are being used in Iraq
at this very moment in time. I could place those words that Bush spoke
here and it would indeed let you know how I felt if I had been President
of the United States before we invaded Iraq.
I would have said, "I made it very
clear to the Congress that the use of federal money, taxpayers' money to
promote science which destroys life in order to save life is — I'm against
that. And therefore, if the bill does that, I will veto it."
Yes I would be referring to any
one in our Congress wanting to declare war on Iraq.
I think that social pressure alone would have solved our problems with that dictator in Iraq because we are crazy enough to use nuclear weapons and the world knows that.
At the time we invaded Iraq I did
indeed write my
Congressmen and let them know that
it was wrong to invade Iraq.
No one ever listens to me when
I know that I am right.
